Coquitlam, BC: Punch Tools, an integrated sheet metal processing innovator specializing in right sized point of use metal punching work stations, was selected to design & build production punching equipment that will be used for the next generation Model X by the Tesla Motor Company. Punch Tools is working hand in hand with Sapa North America one of the World's largest Manufacturers of Structural aluminum shapes to build tooling that efficiently and accurately processes parts with minimal operator intervention and Zero tolerance rejects for the Model X.
Punch Tools VP Jim McKinlay says of this latest victory "We've touted our punch station designs as simple and elegant solutions for the factory of the future in North America and this validates our claims. We believe other manufacturers will stand up and take notice when reshoring production and planning their factories here."
